Like pretty much everyone else, NSH has had to make a lot of changes and adjustments this year due to the COVID-19 crisis. Our regular road to the Annual NSH Symposium/Convention has taken twists and turns presenting interesting hurdles that had to be overcome. But in that process, new and innovative solutions have led to a series of exciting “firsts.” I wanted to take a minute to share these with you because we are pumped!
The Annual Symposium/Convention Goes Virtual – Truthfully, going virtual was a little scary. How could NSH offer something truly special and valuable? The answer was simple – use the technology to give people access to more CEUs than ever before. Think about it, because of the OnDemand library it doesn’t matter what live session you attend as you can still access everything for 30 days. This means more learning and more CEUs.
Group Discounts – After a great conversation with a couple of NSH members, we learned that going virtual meant that the cost of travel was eliminated, thus there might be more funds to “send” additional employees to the Convention – so why not make it even more cost effective by offering a group discount? That is exactly what we did, and so many of you have taken advantage of this already!
Awards Ceremony – This prestigious event has been a part of the Annual Convention for decades, and while its exciting to share in the successes of co-workers and the histology community, it has had its limitations. Limited seating, limited time, limited wine. This year’s event has been reimagined and reengineered. It will feature videos with award winners and commentary from past winners, culminating in an interactive activity for increased networking and fun! It will be open to everyone, and because you can enjoy this from the comfort of your own home – the wine, H&E G&T, or whatever you beverage of choice will never run out!
So yeah, it’s been hard – but getting a chance to solve problems and think differently has certainly been one of the best surprises on this year’s road to the Convention…and we want to hear from you!
